Lake View Country House

We had a great stay here and would recommend it. The location is fantastic and there’s plenty of parking on site which is great. It’s in a very walkable site with the kids for walking around Grasmere. Richard is a fantastic host and answers all our questions. Only downside I would say (and other reviews have mentioned) is that the rooms are not very well sound proofed, we could hear other guests during our stay. However we would recommend and would be happy to stay again.

Really disappointed with our stay. We were charged an extra £56 for an additional camp bed setup, which felt absolutely extortionate for what was provided. To make matters worse, the host then asked if we had cash and suggested doing a discount outside of the normal payment process, which felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable. The floor within the apartment was also really unsafe for our children, which was a major concern throughout the stay and added a lot of stress. On top of that, there were badgers running around in the front garden which wwre being fed by the home owner. This was never advised or mentioned on the property listing / information. This was quite alarming for both our children and our dog. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations and left a bad impression. Would not stay here again.

Great accommodation paired with excellent hosts, really personal experience! You can tell they’ve thought of everything, right down to the dog cleaning facilities in the entrance hall and the discount off your meal in their pub up the road. Rooms were nice and spacious, comfortable bed, we’ll be back!

I had a wonderful stay at Lake View. The rooms were comfortable, the location is brilliant and such a bonus to have a short walk to a private beach. Also very special to see the badgers at night.
