Lodging near Ambleside with shower facilities, steps from Wastwater lake.
About Neaum Crag
Neaum Crag is a small lodging site in Loughrigg, on the edge of Ambleside in the Lake District. It has shower facilities on site. The location puts you within moments of Wastwater, one of the region's most dramatic lakes, and close to other water-based accommodation and outdoor spots.
The nearby area is well-suited to walking and water activities. Blelham Tarn and Dock Tarn are both within easy reach, and Ambleside itself—with its shops, pubs and access to fell walks—is nearby. This is a base for people who want to be in the heart of the Lakes rather than in a full-service campsite.

What visitors say
Years and years ago when our children were kids we loved Neaum Crag as a holiday destination. The kids are now adults but we fancied returning with our dogs for a short break. So we booked 4 nights in Watendlath cabin 15-19 Sept. The cabin was set high up on the estate within vast woodland. Very close to Ambleside town. A beautiful cabin with beautiful interior and quality furnishings. Oh and what a comfy quality bed too. I have arthritis and fibromyalgia and I found it so comfy. We took our two small dogs and would have preferred all of the lodge to be enclosed to allow the dogs out without fear of diddling off but fencing was there where it was needed to be, as a safety measure because of the height we were at. The only downside was the weather (no we can't blame that on Neaum crag ha ha). It was torrential arriving, torrential leaving (sorry we left wet foot marks by the door leaving, we were back and forth for the luggage in awful weather, really couldn't be helped) and we had some drizzly days in-between the heavy wind and rain. highly recommend Neaum Crag for a woodland experience in a cabin/lodge. Lovely helpful owners of the estate while booking. Easy to contact and response was super quick. We'll be back for sure.

Another week at Neaum, this time in Flat Tarn. Lovely comfortable lodge, so well equipped. Nice comfy bed too. Weather went through all four seasons in the week, but that's the lakes for you. Site as well kept as ever, even got to see the red squirrels , owls and lovely resudent family of viles in the garden. No doubt ve back again.😀

Great spot for exploring from. Swimming pool small but quiet and clean. We only stayed in a cabin for the weekend but will happily visit again.

We spent a wonderful week at Moss Eccles Tarn. Peace, quiet, lovely birdsong, privacy. The cottage was very very clean, everything you need is there (and even more). I liked the pictures on the walls referring to the place. A good base for trips. I would like to come back here someday. We would also like to thank you for the welcome treat for us and our dog.
