Step through the door of Coastguard Cottage and you enter a generously proportioned ground floor: a living room with Freeview TV and DVD player, a dining room, and a kitchen fitted with electric cooker, microwave and washing machine. Two shower rooms with cubicle showers sit alongside two separate toilets. Upstairs are four bedrooms—two with double beds, one with two singles, and one with bunks—served by the family bathrooms below. The layout gives everyone breathing room, which matters when you're eight people strong.
An enclosed garden with patio and furniture wraps around the property, and a private hot tub for eight sits within it (available for an additional fee). Parking accommodates three cars. Essentials like electricity, heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are covered. The cottage stands in a quiet road that leads down toward the beach; Caister-on-Sea village, with its shops and cafes, lies five hundred yards away. Great Yarmouth is a short drive off, home to the Pleasure Beach amusement park, a racecourse and seafront attractions. The nearby caravan park has a clubhouse restaurant and bar open to guests. No smoking indoors.

Really surprised by all the 5 star reviews. Overall the place was fine, but we felt it was definitely not worth what we paid and were underwhelmed. Pros: good location to walk straight onto the beach; clean and well looked after; EV charger; regular communication from host; TV in every room; good WiFi Cons: not very dog-friendly - felt like we couldn’t relax because of the dog rules; small for 6 people (one toilet); lacks a homely feel (lacking curtains, sofa cushions, decor and accessories); feels like corners have been cut in places (basic Lidl hand soap, not enough baking trays, an old scouring pad left for us to use in the sink); dated furniture/interior design (hundreds of old DVDs for example); Caister itself very sleepy and non-descript.

We had a great stay at Coastguard Cottages this year. It's our second time visiting and once again communication in advance and the service onsite was excellent. The cottage is clean and well kept (we loved the brand new kitchen) with everything you need for a family holiday on the coast. We love staying here, it's perfect for our little ones (4 and 6) who are always thrilled at being seconds from the beach (and we're thrilled at not having to lug everything miles for the beach). We had mixed weather this year but were kept busy with some fantastic suggestions from James - Bewilderwood, Pettits and the Circus. Thanks for another great stay James :)

The cottage was lovely, fitted out to a very high spec. Was so nice having 2 gardens, one at the front and one at the back, both are sun traps. The beach is right outside the back gate. James made the booking so easy to do and was really helpful with any suggestions. Everything is withing easy walking distance to the cottage if you didn't want to drive. Without a doubt we will be back, it was a lovely 4 days relaxing break.

Lovely stay and excellent for walkers of the Norfolk Coast as it's right on it! Would highly recommend. The electric car charge was very easy, quick and incredibly inexpensive. James was the best host I've had and nothing was too much trouble. We will hope to return as we are missing going to sleep to the sound of the sea. Great place to see the seals as they come onto nearby beaches to pup. We saw about 200 yesterday just on the sand.
