About Cliff Hotel

Gorleston-on-Sea's beach and seafront are within easy reach of the Cliff Hotel, while Great Yarmouth itself, with its wider range of attractions, lies a few miles up the coast, making both an easy day out for anyone based here. North Denes Airfield adds a further point of interest nearby for those keen to explore beyond the immediate area.

The hotel has 37 rooms, generally kept clean and comfortable, and its position on Cliff Hill means many take in views out over the sea. A restaurant and bar serve meals throughout the stay, with breakfast and afternoon tea singled out as particular strengths, though some guests have found the food quality to vary. Staff are consistently described as friendly and attentive.

Elsewhere on site there's a garden, a lift, free WiFi and meeting rooms, and the hotel also operates as a wedding venue. Free on-site parking is provided, which is a practical plus for those arriving by car to explore this stretch of the Norfolk coast.

Me and my partner stayed here last night for Valentine’s Day. Such a lovely welcoming hotel, we arrived around 10.30 and were able to park in their carpark and go for an explore before check in time. We came back around an hour before check in to chill out in the hotel but were able to get into our room a little earlier. The room was clean, very comfortable bed and it had everything that we needed. We booked to have dinner in the restaurant which was beautiful, our server was Andreea and she was so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and the cocktails. We had breakfast included which was also amazing, we didn’t catch the name of the lady who greeted and served us but she was lovely. Very good selection of continental breakfast and we also had eggs Benedict and a full English. Overall a really lovely stay, we will definitely be back.

Went to the Cliff for afternoon tea for my Mums 80th birthday. We really enjoyed it, the food was great and plentiful with as much tea as we could drink (coffee or bubbly is also available), absolutely loved the sausage roll, really tasty meat and fantastic pastry. The cakes and sweet pastries were delicious and great quality. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would definitely visit again, I saw some cocktails being prepared which looked delicious, the decor is nice and the general vibe was really inviting.

I can't even wait to leave to drop this review. Absolutely incredible, staff are fantastic, the waiter and bar lady and the young lady on reception as I checked in about 5pm. The seabass was amazing and when I got the bill I was genuinely shocked when it didn't come to anywhere near as much as I expected. I stay in hotels nightly with work and this has honestly been the best I've stayed in so far. I am honestly really impressed. I'm just settling in for bed early at 20:40 because I feel so well fed and revitalised for another early morning with work. The views, the decor, the atmosphere and the staff all brilliant 10/10. Also props to the gentleman playing the bagpipes down by the beach, absolutely epic. Well happy with my stay here cannot recommend it enough... Now off to sleep Loved it.

I'm not sure what's happened but the service in the restaurant has drastically declined. A friend and I booked a table for lunch here as a double birthday celebration and left wishing we had gone somewhere else. The team came across as uninterested and we were largely ignored. It took 45 minutes just to get a drink, which we also had to chase. The food took an age to come out and when it did arrive it was overcooked and the chips were cold. We were then left with dirty glasses and plates for at least half an hour, maybe longer. When the plates were cleared we were not offered dessert or any other drinks. We had to ask for the bill twice before it was finally presented. No one came to take payment, so we had to head inside to try and find someone to take payment. Overall, a thoroughly disappointing experience and one we won't repeat. Shame really, as the location is lovely.
