Cynfal Fawr Farmhouse

Cynfal Fawr Farmhouse is a listed farmhouse deep in Eryri National Park, a rural retreat with an unfenced stream running through the grounds. The building has genuine historical roots, and its Grade I and II listings reflect that heritage. The setting is genuinely remote—the nearest village of any size is Llan Ffestiniog—which means real quiet rather than the marketed kind.

The layout centres on two living areas downstairs: one has a smart TV and an electric woodburner; the other has a separate fireplace. Both rooms require stepping down to reach them. Between them sits a dining room, and a kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A separate toilet is tucked downstairs as well. Upstairs, four bedrooms—two doubles at 4ft 6in, and two singles at 3ft—share one shower room with a cubicle shower. Bed linen, towels, heating and Wi-Fi are included. The front garden has seating and furniture, and there is private parking for four cars on site.

This works well for families or groups of up to eight. The stream in the grounds is a draw for some guests and something to watch with young children. The remoteness means you'll drive to reach shops and restaurants, but the Snowdonia peaks and walking are essentially on the doorstep.
