Sarn Faen Cottages - Bodlyn

Photo: jo mallon

Talybont is a small coastal village in Gwynedd where sandy beach and countryside meet. Sarn Faen Cottages – Bodlyn sits within easy reach of both: the shoreline is walkable, as is a local pub. The cottage itself is a standalone property sleeping six across three bedrooms, each with its own shower room, so multiple people can use the facilities at once. A private hot tub on the patio overlooks the garden.

The ground floor is open-plan, combining kitchen, dining and living areas under one roof. Upstairs are two more bedrooms – a kingsize and a twin. You can cook full meals here; the kitchen has electric oven, hob, dishwasher, and everything else needed for self-catering. Bed linen and towels are provided, as are Wi-Fi and electricity. The property accepts one pet for free. Smoking is not permitted inside.

A back garden with patio and sitting furniture gives outdoor space beyond the hot tub. Private parking fits three cars. Cots and high chairs are available on request, which suits families with young children. Summer months work well for beach time; winter guests will find the hot tub particularly appealing on cooler evenings.

A great campsite. A short walk from the beach and beautiful walks. Near an entertainment complex, with shop, arcade, club, chippy and burger bar. Campsite is peaceful, lovely large pitches with ehu. Showers and toilets.

Had a fabulous stay, plenty of space on pitch, great touch hiring fire pits out. clean facilities and 2 minute walk to the beach! perfect half term stay with the kids!

Disappointing stay. When you ask some fellow campers to turn the noise down after midnight and they actually turn it up for another hour. Followed up with threats of violence to myself and partner. The site owners weren't interested in discussing it with us. They were however very quick to come to my caravan when my dog broke free from it's lead to remind me of the dogs in lead policy. We've stayed many times but never again, it's gone down hill.

Have stayed here twice this year. Nice quiet campsite. Very close by to other caravan parks aswell. 10 minute walk away is an arcade, shop, pub, and chippy. 15 minute walk to the beach. Clean toilets but have not been able to locate shower facilities.
