The Hayloft Barn

The Hayloft Barn is a converted barn on a working smallholding in Gwynedd, positioned between Snowdonia National Park and the Lleyn Peninsula. It sleeps two in a double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, and has an open-plan ground floor combining living space, dining area and kitchen. Everything you need for self-catering is here: a full-size cooker and microwave, fridge-freezer, washing machine and dryer. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and electricity are included. An electric woodburner heats the space, and there is parking for two cars on site. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge.

The barn sits on the owners' 3 acres of natural grounds, surrounded by grazing sheep and donkeys, with views across farmland towards Cardigan Bay and the mountains beyond. A patio has a gas barbecue. The location is roughly halfway between Criccieth and Porthmadog—both around two and a half miles away—making it a practical base for exploring the area. Criccieth has a beach, castle, restaurants and shops; Porthmadog is the departure point for the Ffestiniog Railway steam train service up into Snowdonia. Portmeirion village is also nearby. The surrounding national park offers walking, cycling and other outdoor pursuits. No smoking inside the barn.
