Ty Mawr Cottages - Ty Mawr 2

Gwynedd

Ty Mawr 2 is a stone cottage built into a quiet village location at the edge of Snowdonia National Park, where the mountains meet the coast. The building has real character—rough stone walls, traditional proportions—and sits among countryside with immediate access to walking routes from the door. The owners have kept things straightforward: it's a modest, solid place to stay rather than a showcase.

Downstairs is an open-plan space combining kitchen, dining and living areas, with electric cooking facilities and everything needed for self-catering. A shower room serves the ground floor. Upstairs, one double bedroom. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included. There is parking for one car on site, and the cottage is non-smoking. Children under 5 cannot be accommodated.

Caernarfon castle and its town centre lie nearby, as do the award-winning beaches of Dinas Dinlle and the Llŷn Peninsula. Driving east through the Nantlle Valley reaches Rhyd Ddu, where you can pick up either the footpath to Snowdon or the Welsh Highland Railway for scenic journeys through the National Park. Anglesey is also easily within reach.
