About Crowne Plaza Harrogate
Crowne Plaza Harrogate is a sizeable, purpose-built hotel on Kings Road, with 214 rooms designed for both business trips and weekend stays. Its scale means guests get a proper range of facilities under one roof, including a restaurant, bar, gym and dedicated meeting rooms, alongside more practical touches like air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and family and accessible room options.
Bedrooms are clean, comfortable and generously sized, with room service and in-room drinks available for those who want to stay put. Breakfast draws particular praise, with a wide spread of choices to start the day, and the on-site restaurant and bar cover meals without needing to head out. Staff are consistently described as friendly, professional and helpful, which counts for a lot in a hotel of this size.
The location is a strong point, close to Harrogate town centre and near the Convention Centre, with secure underground parking on site, though this is chargeable and can get tight at busy times. What guests say
We booked this hotel because it had aircon, many hotels in Harrogate don't. It was very welcome after the extremely hot weather we had been having. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. The room was very clean with one of the biggest beds I have ever seen. Extremely comfortable night's sleep. My only gripe with the room would be to have a bit more lighting but it wasnt a massive issue. Breakfast was good, although it was very busy and we had to wait a little while for the buffet to be replenished. Location was excellent for us, just a few minutes walk into the centre and the added bonus was having a car park on site also. We will definitely return.

The breakfast today Easter Sunday was absolutely fabulous. The team worked really well together. I even noticed the f and b Manager give out Easter Eggs to all the children which is going the extra mile. The families were so surprised and happy. A special mention to Helen, Jack, Tamas and the Chef team. Also a huge thank you to Enyse I think her name was in the club lounge Saturday night the lovely young lady who looked after us all. It is so nice to see table service of omelette, and other choices. Also to be offered tea or coffee at the table was lovely. Something I haven't seen since the 90's. Compare this to Marriott where they have cut staff and breakfast quality and closed all their leisure clubs in the UK. What a difference here. I have never seen this many staff in other hotels before. At last a hotel in England that brings back my confidence. The GM should really give his team a big thank you.

Really not a great hotel. The lift system can’t cope and will literally drop you off in a locked area when trying to find the carpark. Check in was woefully slow. Over 40 minutes for our party. Needs a quick check in feature. Location great. Rooms fine. Well cleaned and tidy. And air con worked well. Breakfast acceptable, but again huge ques and slow seating of everyone. Possibly the staff are briefed to question and offer too much advice, which actually hinders the experience and makes everything really slow and frustrating. Shame.

I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza Harrogate and had a really lovely, friendly experience from start to finish. As soon as I arrived, I felt welcomed, and check-in was quick and easy with staff who were genuinely warm and helpful. Throughout my stay, everyone I came across was approachable and happy to help, which made the whole visit feel relaxed and comfortable. My room was clean, cosy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel is also in a great spot, making it really easy to get out and explore Harrogate. Overall, it was a really pleasant stay in a friendly hotel, and I’d happily come back again in the future
