What guests say
A wonderful hidden gem. My husband and I called in initially for a week day pub lunch and the homemade steak pie was absolutely delicious. We decided to go back and try the Sunday lunch yesterday and wasn't disappointed. This wonderful, friendly and well kept pub and restaurant will definitely be on our list for future visits. We met the owner and her daughter who couldn't be more welcoming and will definitely recommend to our family and friends.

We stayed here last night cosy little country pub with guest rooms. We booked on booking.comfor £59 for the night rooms were clean and fresh lots of coffee Tea and hot chocolate in our room. Fresh towels in the bathrooms extra pillows and bedding if needed in the rooms drawers. And we also got a complimentary breakfast which was delicious. Full English breakfast or choice of cereals fresh orange and plenty of toast and hot drinks. Would Definately recommend if you would like a quiet get away in the countryside. Excellent home cooked food. Catered very well for a gluten free party member with several options and noticed vegan and veggie meals too on the menu. It’s a family run pub and the landlady is an exceptional cook and super helpful. Thoroughly recommend this pub was exactly what we were looking for an glad we saw their sign on the main road.

The location is good if you are visiting the nearby reservoir for a walk. However, I don't feel the pub is very family friendly. They don't offer cartons of juice or typical children's drinks. My husband noted the beer tasted rather unpleasant too. The atmosphere was rather unwelcoming.
