A traditional pub-hotel on St John's Road in Harrogate, with a varied menu, generous portions and free on-site parking.

About The Masons Arms

Free on-site parking is a rare enough perk that it's worth mentioning first: The Masons Arms, on St John's Road in Harrogate, offers it alongside straightforward, well-kept accommodation above a working pub. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room, and free WiFi, and the premises are smart and properly maintained rather than tired or dated.

The kitchen turns out a varied menu at reasonable prices, with generous portions and options that suit children as well as adults. There's a restaurant and bar on site, outdoor seating for warmer days, breakfast available, and staff who are attentive without being intrusive. Reception operates around the clock, so arrival times aren't a worry.

Harrogate itself offers plenty within easy reach, including golf, cycling and walking country, along with other pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for those who want to explore beyond the hotel's own kitchen. It's a solid, unfussy base for a stay in the town, built around good food and a comfortable room to return to.

We are very proud to have the Masons Arms as our local. The food is wonderful and the staff are so friendly and run the pub with the true love of a family business. Long may it continue, come join us and help support local businesses like this they need us to continue this great Yorkshire tradition🤗🤗🙌🏼🙌🏼. Best to book at busy times but they have always made us welcome when we just drop in!

Lovely pub nestled in a idyllic village. We booked a table quite last minute for 5 adults and 3 children for a Sunday lunch. Very tasty and good portions for a very reasonable price. Staff very attentive and friendly. Would happily stop by here again should we be holidaying in Yorkshire in the future .

Booked Sunday lunch 2.05.26 Food arrived 10 mns after ordering and was delicious . and service was excellent. Staff friendly and efficient. Prices were extremely good for both food and alcoholic drinks. Plenty of outside picnic benches for those sunny days. The place itself is very smart and well looked after, with plenty of parking available both on roadside or parking in their car park at the rear. We were that pleased we have booked a table again in 2 weeks. Highly recommend, in a delightful village just outside Ripon/Knaresborough.

Stayed for one night on my way through for work but wish I could have stayed longer. Staff were really nice and welcoming, my room was clean and comfortable, fair prices for some really nice food too. I had the pork belly which was done perfectly. Hope to come by again next time I'm in the area!
