We stopped off here on our way home after a night in Bedford. It was lovely. Very reasonably priced we thought with an audio tour included. We were asked if we'd like an audio tour of the village, this was also included. Its a very interesting museum and I will certainly recommend to friends

Cafe can be visited separately. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Free access to the cotrage garden and benches. Museum occupies the original cottage. Its hard to rate the nuseum for the ordinary visitor. My wife and I gave relevant degrees and were familiar with Clare's work. I have a PhD in poetry. We gained a real insight into Clare the man through our visits, but others may find the entrance fee a bit steep, especially in these days of Wikepedia. Not a family day out destination.

What a gem of a place to visit. We cannot believe we haven’t been before! Beautiful cottage and garden with a very interesting story to tell. The ladies in the Tea Room were delightful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our sandwiches were delicious! Highly recommend visiting and we will definitely return.

Very fascinating attraction and informative BUT. They fell down on having the disabled emergency exit door locked and no direction in one of the rooms to where an emergency exit was. A disabled person would only be able to look around downstairs and not look upstairs which is a shame. I know the local Fire officer has been contacted re this, so just be warned
