I was a little worried when we turned up as the outside didn't look quite as grand & as fresh as the photos and walking in the restaurant to book in looked abit dowdy, definitely in need of new carpet, the rugs look extremely dated and dirty. Also need to clean the fan on the bar it was covered in dirt/dust & appeared to be brown, I was nervous I have to admit, especially after seeing the fans cleanliness. But as soon as the door was opened to upstairs everything totally changed!! We stayed in the Superior king room, so so beautiful! The most comfiest mattress, pillows and sheets, a fabulous night's sleep. Even better was there was a decent fan in the room which was very much needed in this heat. Gorgeous furniture and clean!! Lovely hand soap and bubble bath too. Absolutely loved the historic fireplace, walls & beams... We only had breakfast which was beautiful with local produce. We will definitely be back. Just a tip you need to Danish oil your wooden furniture, needs a good shine and brighten up (from a fellow old furniture lover) Many thanks and we shall see you in the not so distant future.

Love this place! The room is super cute, very clean and a perfect mix of modern remodeling but keeping the original architecture and flavor. The pub downstairs has a great selection of beers and the restaurant has delicious selection. I got the mint lamb steak and I dont think I've ever had more delicious lamb. 11/10.

Excellent pub on the Welsh English Border. Good food & drink. Great spot to stay if you need an overnight stay. Cool local history too
