About The Godwins

A well-stocked bar with a good range of cask beers sets the tone at The Godwins, a traditional inn in the heart of Hereford. The building has plenty of character, and its city centre position puts Hereford Cathedral and the River Wye within easy reach, along with pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby.

Rooms are spacious and full of the sort of quirks you'd expect from an old inn, with en-suite bathrooms and family rooms available for those travelling with children. That said, some rooms show their age and maintenance can be inconsistent, so it's worth bearing in mind alongside the character on offer. Staff are consistently friendly and the atmosphere is warm, and free on-site parking is a genuine convenience in a city centre setting.

Beyond the rooms, the property offers a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating, plus meeting rooms and a bridal suite for weddings and events. Breakfast and free WiFi are included, and the surrounding area suits walking and cycling as well as evenings out at nearby pubs and restaurants.

Had a lovely quiet 2 night stay. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. The tiny issue we had in our room with some light bulbs and with toiletries was sorted immediately. The historic building is lovely and they are doing a great job in doing it up. It’s not perfect but the price more than reflects that. We knew they didn’t serve breakfast before we booked and the place they recommended was excellent. They also did leave some complimentary instant porridge which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again.

Had a meal with my family at the Godwins hotel Herefordshire and the food was so good. Had a tiny issue with a pie and the chef was so lovely and replaced the pie and the bar staff gave us a free round of drink which was so generous and unnecessary but lovely. Will definitely be coming back again. The premises is clean and tidy and very countryside and friendly. Xxx

Absolutely loved our little stay here 💜 the rooms are lovely - some really quirky feature& a fantastic history. The team are brilliant - spent some time chatting in the bar - crackin evening. Comfy rooms, some lovely old building spooky noises 👻 loved it! Plenty of parking, basic food which was good & welcome after an active afternoon. Good choice of ales & close to Queenswood Country Park for a Parkrun Saturday morning 💜🏃‍♀️🙌🏻

Enjoyed a lovely meal with friends. In walking distance for our friends, a short drive for us. We booked not realising it was a quiz night, great entertainment. Beautiful building and friendly staff.
