Castleton sits at the gateway to some of the Peak District's best walking territory. Peveril Castle and Peak Cavern are a five-minute walk away, and the village itself has five pubs, restaurants and cafes within the same distance. Limestone dales and high moorland spread out beyond, with routes ranging from gentle valley strolls to serious moorland hikes. Chatsworth House, Lyme Park and the attractions around Matlock Bath are all within half an hour's drive, and Buxton is ten miles north. Golf, fly fishing and pony trekking are six miles away; if you want to swim, there is outdoor summer swimming seven miles off.

Mullions and Mushroom Cottage is a period house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, sleeping six. The ground floor has a living room with a woodburner (initial logs included), a dining room, a kitchen with a breakfast area fully equipped for cooking, and a utility room with washing and drying machines. Upstairs are three bedrooms: a king-size, a double, and a twin. Both bathrooms have baths with showers. The enclosed rear garden has terraces, garden furniture and a gas barbecue. Wifi, bed linen and towels are provided. The cottage does not permit smoking. One well-behaved pet is welcome.
