You enter Pheasant Cottage straight into a single open-plan space where the living area, kitchen and dining zone flow together on the ground floor. A woodburner anchors the sitting area; the kitchen has an electric oven, hob and dishwasher for cooking. The bedroom holds a super king bed, and there's an ensuite with walk-in shower. Everything is on one level, with underfloor heating throughout and Wi-Fi to keep you connected if you want it.
The private courtyard is the draw. Out here sits a hot tub for four, set in the landscaped garden with countryside around it. There's parking for two cars, though note the path from the car park down to the cottage is moderately steep. Bed linen, towels and electricity are included, plus initial logs for the woodburner and a welcome pack. The cottage is on the Oaklands Manor Estate and sleeps two people; smoking is not permitted.
Buxton itself is a ten-minute drive, with the Pavilion Gardens, the Devonshire Dome spa and a theatre for shows. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall lie within reasonable reach, as do walking trails, caverns and Alton Towers if you're planning a wider trip. For a quieter stay, the High Peak's open countryside is accessible from your door.
