Corran Shepherd’s Hut

Kyle sits in one of Scotland's most remote corners, where single-track roads wind through glens and the sea lochs cut deep into the landscape. Corran Shepherd's Hut occupies its own grounds beside a river, a short distance from the tidal waters of Loch Hourn and within sight of Beinn Sgritheall. The village itself is small and quiet—the kind of place where red deer, otters and golden eagles are regular sightings, and seals surface in the loch on rising tides.
The hut is a single open-plan space with a king bed, shower room, wood-burning stove, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. A spacious decked terrace with garden furniture faces the water and mountains. Bed linen, towels and wifi are provided, along with initial fuel for the stove and heating throughout. There is parking for one car. The hut is for adults only and is entirely yours for the duration of your stay.
Hiking starts on the doorstep: accessible Munros are within walking distance, while lower-level coastal trails begin beyond the village. Glenelg, a thirty-minute drive along the road, has a shop, an inn, and the world's last operational turntable ferry to Skye. The Knoydart Peninsula lies directly across the loch. A small tea hut in Corran, and the Ceilidh House and Heritage Centre nearby, are the only other landmarks worth mentioning in this deeply quiet part of the Highlands.

What guests say
We stayed at the Shepherd’s Hut for 2 nights and even with bad weather it was amazing. The Hut is very cosy and well presented, with all the essentials needed. We were able to see the famous ducks (a delightful sight) and above all the majestic red deer at our door step. The scenery is absolutely stunning and we just wished we had more time to explore. See you next time and thank you for receiving us so well. Leonor & Richard

Absolutely lovely place and hamlet. Hosts are friendly and full of knowledge. The hut is warm and cosy and the bed is so comfy. For a self catering holiday, this has everything you need and the views are stunning. Will definitely return.
