Sheena’s But’n’Ben
Highland
Sheena's But'n'Ben is comprehensively set up for self-catering. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer and washing machine. There's a sitting room with an open fire (fuel provided to start you off), Freesat and a smart TV. Three bedrooms sleep six: a kingsize, two singles, and a bunk room. The single bathroom has a bath with shower over it. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are all included. One dog stays free.
The cottage sits at the end of the road on the shore of Loch Hourn, between the Glenelg and Knoydart peninsulas. This is genuinely remote terrain—the final stretch winds along the coast past the Sandaig Islands and through landscape dominated by Knoydart's mountains. Arnisdale and Corran are the nearest settlements. On-site parking fits three cars. The front garden has a sitting-out area with furniture, though it is shared with other properties. No smoking inside.
The drive in itself is worth the journey: it follows the old military road through Glen Shiel, passes Glenelg (which has an inn and the turntable ferry to Skye), and traces the shoreline beneath the Cuillin. This is walking, exploring and wild-swimming country. Sheena's Tea Hut is next door if you need provisions without driving back.
