Croftside House works well for families wanting space to spread out, groups of friends, or multi-generational gatherings. The property holds nine guests across four bedrooms—two kingsize, one double, and one with singles plus a pull-out bed—each with its own ensuite or access to a bathroom. You get the full house to yourselves in a quiet setting on the edge of Aviemore, within the Cairngorms National Park.
The ground floor centres on a large living and dining area with a 55-inch television, woodburner, and plenty of books and games. The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking: electric oven, dishwasher, air fryer, slow cooker and coffee machines in most bedrooms mean you can prepare anything from a full meal to an easy breakfast. A pizza oven sits by the French doors opening to the garden. There's also a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, and an external games room housing a pool table, table tennis, air hockey, darts and a digital sauna. A fenced garden has a private hot tub, patio, barbecue and children's games including basketball and archery; bikes are available to hire. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included, along with your first evening meal prepared in the slow cooker and a breakfast box waiting on arrival.
The location suits walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts year-round. Aviemore village is close by. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Pros; Good location for easy access to local amenities. Spacious property. Well equipped kitchen with a good sized dining table. Hot tub was a lovely addition. Gardens were adequate in size, safe, enclosed and not overlooked. Full Sky TV package was brilliant for rainy days. Cons; Advertised a sofa bed but could not see this in the property. Unsure of thoroughness of cleaning as a vape pen was found between the sofa cushions along with a lollipop stick and the sofas were sticky. Also found previous lodgers hair bobbles in the master bedroom. Shower closures don’t close properly. Upstairs shower pressure is very poor. Games room is nothing like it appears in the pictures. The 2 tables are not set up - have to put the table tennis tables on top of the pool table which is unfortunate as we wanted to play different things at the same time. Decor appeared tired throughout and could do with freshening up. Also a cracked wall socket in the kitchen. Kitchen knives were rusting. Tea stains in the mugs that could do with being replaced. Soundproofing is poor in the property as you can hear anyone walking about upstairs. Freeview not working in one bedroom. Downstairs beds were creaky and may need replaced. Overall we did enjoy our stay but we would not classify the property as value for money and felt it was overpriced and therefore unfortunately are unlikely to book again. We stayed in the owners other property (Clunnie Mor) last year and found it much better value for money.
