Easter Dalziel Farm Cottages - Pine Cottage

Photo: Easter Dalziel Farm Cottages

Pine Cottage is one of three 19th-century farm cottages on Easter Dalziel Farm, set in open pasture roughly 10 minutes east of Inverness. Highland cattle graze the fields around the property, and the coast is less than a mile away—close enough that bottlenose dolphins can be spotted year-round from nearby beaches. The nearest sandy shore is at Nairn; Rosemarkie on the Black Isle offers both sand and dolphin-watching opportunities across the Moray Firth.

The cottage sleeps 6 across three bedrooms: two doubles on the ground floor (one with its own shower room) and a twin upstairs. There are two bathrooms in total. A well-equipped kitchen lets you cook properly, and the open-plan living and dining space has an original mid-20th-century stove. Heating, electricity, wifi and all bed linen are included. You have private parking for two cars and your own lawned garden with seating; a larger shared garden wraps around the farm cottages. One well-behaved dog stays free.

The cottage suits families wanting a quiet base with easy access to the Moray coast, woodland walks and the attractions of Inverness. Note that there are steps within the grounds, and smoking is not permitted inside.

We stayed in the aire in our moho, convenient for the airport, not many planes flying over, but some are loud first thing in the morning.

Really lovely peaceful stay. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. House itself was well laid out and as we stayed over Easter, they had left out an Easter egg hunt box and some local delicacies which was very much appreciated. Situated five minutes from Inverness.
