Loch Portree stretches out in front of Fleet Cottage, with the Cuillin mountains rising across the water. This 1850s crofter's cottage sits just metres from the shore, its position working in your favour – the main rooms upstairs angle towards the view, and a steep terraced garden slopes down to the water's edge with seating to watch light change on the loch. The town centre is a short walk away, with shops closer still, so you have both isolation and convenience.
Inside, a kingsize bedroom and a twin bedroom each have their own facilities: one ensuite, one main bathroom with bath and over-shower. The ground floor holds the bedrooms; upstairs, the kitchen and living room open onto each other with a wood-burner for cooler evenings. You have a full range of appliances to cook properly, or you can rely on nearby restaurants – the Prince of India is among the options locally. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all provided; the burner comes with its first load of fuel. A car park is on site.
The garden's steep flight of steps means this suits adults and older children rather than toddlers. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
