Glenrossal Cottages - Keeper’s House

Photo: Ben Baker

Keeper's House is a detached stone cottage on the Glenrossal Estate, a working Highland property with its own fishing beats on the River Cassley. The cottage overlooks the river and sits in Glen Cassley, about 20 yards from the water. Three bedrooms sleep up to six, making it suitable for larger groups or two families; there are two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower, one with a shower cubicle. One dog stays free.

The ground floor has a living room with an open fire, a substantial kitchen/dining room with a Belfast sink and room to gather, and a utility space with washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and freezer. Upstairs are two further bedrooms. The essentials—heating, electricity, wi-fi, bed linen, towels and logs for the fire—are included. You'll find a TV and DVD player in the living room, and parking for two cars on site.

The estate offers salmon and trout fishing from Monday to Saturday during season (a licence is required); there's also a small loch behind the cottages for practice. Outdoor space includes an enclosed lawned garden with seating and furniture. The cottage has a natural water supply from a borehole. No smoking inside.

One of the most beautiful glens in Scotland complete with eagles and ospreys but sadly fewer and fewer salmon.
