Husabost Croft

Neist Point lighthouse, Coral Beach and Dunvegan Castle are all within reach of Husabost Croft, a converted crofting cottage on the far north-west of Skye. The journey north beyond Dunvegan takes you past small clusters of traditional houses that have weathered Atlantic winds for centuries. This one sits on an elevated plot surrounded by moorland and sea, accessed via a private driveway.

Inside, the 19th-century core of the building has been extended to create two living spaces: an original room with an open fire, and a larger open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area wrapped around the extension, with patio doors to the garden. The farmhouse-style kitchen has what you need to cook properly. Upstairs are two double bedrooms either side of a bathroom with a bath positioned to face the sea and mountains. A shower room is downstairs. The house sleeps 4 across its two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One dog can come with you. Wifi, bed linen and towels are provided; there is parking on site. No smoking inside.

The exterior is rough Highland moorland, suitable for exploring on foot or letting a dog loose. The setting works for couples and families who want to base themselves somewhere with genuine views and space to move, rather than close to shops or attractions.
