Waterfront pitches on Loch Dunvegan, five minutes' walk from the village

About Kinloch Campsite

Kinloch occupies a former croft right on the shore of Loch Dunvegan, with MacLeod's Tables — the distinctive flat-topped hills — filling the skyline inland. It's one of the few Skye campsites that combines a genuine waterfront setting with a village on the doorstep: Dunvegan's shops, cafes, pubs and petrol station are a five-minute walk along the road. The family who run it have invested steadily in facilities, and the modern amenity block is kept clean, with laundry, free wifi across the site, charging sockets and ice-pack refreezing.

As a base it works well for the north-west third of the island. Dunvegan Castle and its seal-trip boats are a mile up the road, the Coral Beaches a short drive beyond that, and Neist Point about forty minutes west. There's a large grass field for tents and hardstanding pitches with hook-up for motorhomes. The loch itself rewards an evening walk: otters work the shoreline at dusk, herons stalk the shallows, and sunsets over MacLeod's Tables are among the best in the north-west. Dogs welcome.

Absolutely incredible views from the camp site. Words just cannot describe it. Its a see for yourself and be Absolutely blown away, especially at sunset, as its right on the shore of Loch Dunvegan. Stunning.\\n\\nThe facilities are well maintained and very well cleaned.\\nThere's hot showers and clean toilets.\\nLaundry facilities and a converted phone box to charge devices, this is entirely at personal risk. I left a battery pack charging all day and it was still there when i retrieved it fully charged. I would happily leave things there worry free.\\n\\nI highly recommend this campsite.\\n\\nIts also a quiet campsite so no noises neighbours blasting tunes till 3am. So very peaceful.\\nDogs are welcome on lead.

Great camping with spacious bathrooms, friendly staff and stunning views. Visited with a tent for one night. There are four showers with nice hot water, open 24/7. No campfire allowed. Prices are very affordable. Would definitely come back.

Absolutely stunning location for both campers and tents. Bear in mind that it can get windy 😊. Good facilities with everything you need ( maybe one more tumble dryer 😁), very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this part of Isle of Skye. A trip to The oldest Bakery on the island is a must 😍
