Highland

In the heart of Sutherland's wild landscape, this standalone shepherd's hut offers an unconventional base for exploring the dramatic scenery around Inchnadamph. The single bedroom sleeps two in a double bed, with a shower room situated outside the hut. Everything is on the ground floor, arranged around an open-plan living and dining space with a compact kitchen equipped with electric cooking and a microwave-oven combination. Electric heating keeps the hut warm, and essentials like bed linen, towels and wifi are provided. There is parking for one car on site.
The hut sits in country that draws walkers and wildlife enthusiasts year-round. Ben More Assynt and Conival are within reach for those after mountain views, while Loch Assynt's shoreline holds the ruins of 15th-century Ardvreck Castle. The Bone Caves at Inchnadamph, formed in limestone, contain evidence of Ice Age fauna. Red deer, golden eagles and otters inhabit the surrounding land. Lochinver, a fishing village about 15 minutes away, has restaurants, shops and coastal walks, and Kylesku Bridge and its nearby waterfalls are a scenic drive off. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge. No smoking is permitted in the hut.
