Rivendell House

A single-storey stone cottage in the Highland village of Kilmonivaig, Rivendell House has all its living spaces on the ground floor. Three bedrooms (a king, a double, and a twin) and one bathroom serve groups of up to six, with one dog staying free. The open-plan heart of the place combines kitchen, dining area and lounge around a wood-burning stove, which takes the chill off after days in the mountains. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer makes sense for families or longer stays, particularly those returning muddy from walks.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering: electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, and fridge-freezer mean you can cook proper meals rather than relying on takeaways. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all covered, and the wood-burner has initial fuel supplied. Two cars can park on site. The front garden has seating and a pond, with tree cover around the property.

Kilmonivaig sits close to Spean Bridge and Fort William, putting the cottage within reach of mountain ranges, forests and lochs for hiking and cycling. No smoking inside.
