Rose Cottage
Highland
The Morvern peninsula's west coast draws people for its isolation and landscape—rocky shores, lochs, woodland, the ruins of Kinlochaline Castle visible across the water. Rose Cottage sits on the Ardtornish estate beside the River Aline, a base for exploring that terrain on foot or by car, or simply staying put to watch the light change over the Castle Pool from the garden.
The cottage holds six guests across three bedrooms: a double and two singles upstairs, a bunk room on the ground floor. There are two bathrooms—one upstairs with a bath and shower, one on the ground floor as a walk-in shower room. Downstairs, a living room has a multi-fuel burner and Freesat, while the kitchen and dining room are properly equipped for cooking. Bed linen, towels, heating and wifi are all included; there's a small lawned garden with seating and parking for two cars. One dog is welcome. The property draws people who want to work or create—artists and writers have used it as a retreat—though families and groups find it equally suited to a week away. The water supply comes from a spring on the estate. No smoking inside.
