About Lochaline Hotel
Walk into a room at the Lochaline Hotel and you'll find a comfortable, modern space with an en-suite bathroom and views out across the loch and sea towards the surrounding hills. With only five rooms, the place has a settled, peaceful atmosphere rather than a busy hotel feel, and drinks can be brought straight to your room if you'd rather not head down to the bar.
Food is a strong point here, with a made-to-order breakfast to start the day and home-cooked dinners in the restaurant in the evening, alongside good coffee throughout your stay. Packed lunches can be arranged for days out, and there's an outdoor seating area and picnic spot to make the most of the setting. Staff are attentive and happy to help with local recommendations, and pets are welcome too.
The hotel sits within easy reach of fishing, cycling and walking country, with watersports also nearby, plus pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings out. Free on-site parking is provided, making it a straightforward base for exploring the wider Oban area and Argyll's coastline and hills.
What guests say
We had an excellent stay here with friends. The location is wonderful, very peaceful and views across to Mull. Rooms very comfortable, excellent shower. Breakfast arrangement was great with fresh fruit, yogurts, pastries in addition to cooked breakfast choice. Top coffee machine! Dinners were simple home cooking but very tasty. Pizzas were outstanding. We also did a land based wildlife safari with Peter and saw otters, eagles, deer. Shaley was an excellent host. Great walking close by. We hope to be back!

It's was supposed to be refurbished but no sign of it. The new owners haven't done the place any favours. The bars closed n restaurant anymore. They can't waste the view though.

We stayed at the Lochaline Hotel unexpectedly after getting stranded between the Corran and Lochaline ports in a blizzard, missing the last ferry as a result. We had our 15mo son and dog with us and no place to stay for the night. Thankfully they had rooms available, and what a find this place was! Super dog friendly, gorgeous and comfortable room, and we just so happened to land on pizza night. Food was delicious! The vibe in the dining room was incredible, with all the guests chatting like old friends and sharing stories. Breakfast was also delicious, setting us up for the final leg of our journey to Mull. We're already planning to add it in as a final stop on our next visit to the island later this year. We cannot thank them enough for providing our family with a safe place to stay for night.

Out of all the hotels I have stayed at, this was one of the absolute BEST! It may not be the Hilton in London but the owners, the location and the scenery make it so much more special We only stayed for 4 nights but fell in love with the area and will deffo be back for a much longer stay. Thankyou so much
