Rowan House

Rowan House is a contemporary architect-designed property in Fiskavaig on the north-west coast of Skye. Built to take advantage of its position, the house has full-height glazing framing views across the bay to the beach immediately in front—close enough that you might spot seals on the shore or cast a line into the water. The beach and sea are just yards away, reached directly from the garden without fencing between.

Inside, the ground floor is an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space where you can cook on an electric cooker, with a woodburner for cooler evenings. A separate toilet and main bathroom with both bath and shower occupy this level too, along with one bedroom. The first floor holds three further bedrooms: two with ensuite showers, and a bunk room for children. The property sleeps eight across its four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Essentials including electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered, and initial logs for the woodburner are provided. The external utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and an American-style fridge-freezer. There is private parking for three cars and a substantial front garden with patio. Cots, highchairs and stairgates are available.

Skye offers serious walking, climbing and mountain biking country, along with beaches, restaurants and watersports within easy reach. The Talisker Distillery is a few miles away. The house does not permit smoking.
