Seascape

Highland

Photo: Google Maps

Seascape commands the western edge of the Isle of Skye, facing out over Fiskavaig Bay towards Loch Bracadale and the distant islands beyond. The property is a detached house with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping eight. Ground floor accommodation includes an open-plan living and dining area with a woodburner, a kitchen with full cooking facilities, and a utility room. Upstairs, one bedroom has an en-suite; the others share a bathroom. A travel cot and highchair are available for younger guests.

The sea-facing windows frame those views throughout the day. You have parking for three cars on the gravel drive, and the grounds include natural croftland with sloping banks—worth noting if you're planning to spend time outside with children. Electricity, bed linen, towels and initial logs for the burner are all provided; heating is underfloor throughout. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The property is non-smoking.

From here, Skye's main attractions are within reach: Dunvegan Castle, Neist Point Lighthouse, the Talisker Distillery and the Trotternish Peninsula all lie on the west side. Portree, the island's main town with its working harbour, is accessible for a day out. For those wanting solitude, the location offers immediate access to coastal walks and the kind of quiet that draws people to this part of Scotland.
