Neist Point Lighthouse is a 10-minute drive from Sgath na Craig, and the walk down to the lighthouse—where dolphins sometimes appear—is a classic Skye outing. Waterstein Head's trig point sits nearby for those without a fear of heights. Colbost pier is a few minutes on foot, and the Three Chimneys Restaurant is 250 yards away. Dunvegan village and its shops and cafes are 10 minutes by car, as is the township of Glendale. Boat trips to Saint Kilda leave from Dunvegan; the dinosaur footprints, Quirang, and Old Man of Storr are on the island's north side, reachable within an hour's drive.
This traditional whitewashed croft occupies Upper Colbost, just off the main road to Glendale, and looks across Loch Dunvegan towards Dunvegan Castle and the white sands of Coral Beach. On clear days, the Isle of Harris is visible. The house has three bedrooms: two doubles and one with single beds, plus a bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Downstairs, the living room has a wood burner and smart TV; the dining room and kitchen connect off it. The kitchen is fitted for proper cooking—cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer—with a breakfast bar. Essential costs are covered: heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with fuel for the wood burner. One pet stays free and must be kept on a lead in this sheep country. Two cars can park on site. No smoking.
