🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Stag Cottage

Highland

Photo: Google Maps

The Isle of Skye draws people for its landscapes and wildlife, and Stag Cottage sits in the thick of both. A shop, pub and restaurant lie three miles away; the nearest beach is eight and a half miles off. The ground-floor layout suits couples or solo travellers who want to base themselves in rural Skye without fuss. A double bedroom, shower room, separate living and dining spaces, and a kitchen equipped for self-catering are all there; the wood burner in the living room works on logs, with an initial supply included. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi come as standard.

An enclosed garden wraps around the cottage, with sitting-out furniture to catch the views across Loch Dunvegan. Two cars can park on the private driveway. The surrounding croft land attracts red deer and other highland wildlife—the owners offer optional spinning lessons and deer-watching sessions if that appeals. The setting works well for walkers and cyclists after genuine Highland terrain rather than manicured gardens or sea-view shortcuts. No smoking is permitted indoors.
