Taigh Mullach Dearg stands alone on the Harlosh Peninsula, a working crofting landscape on Skye's northwest tip near Dunvegan. Built in 2025, the cottage is a single storey with everything on one level: a bedroom with a king-size bed, shower room, and an open-plan space combining kitchen, dining and living areas. Large windows face out across the crofting land towards distant hills and Loch Bracadale. The wood-burning stove provides focal point and warmth; underfloor heating runs throughout. You get a full kitchen for self-catering, wi-fi, bed linen and towels, with electricity included in the price.
The setting matters here. Harlosh itself is quiet—genuinely rural rather than village-like—but Dunvegan village a short drive away has shops and restaurants. The peninsula walk offers views across the loch and chances to see sea eagles, otters and seals. The cottage has its own parking and an electric car charging point. There is a sitting area and garden furniture on the grounds. No smoking inside. This is somewhere to come for stillness, or as a base for exploring Skye's northwest—Dunvegan Castle, Neist Point Lighthouse and longer hill walks are all within reach.

A very nice, clean, modern holiday home for two people in a very quiet location by the sea. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the view from the living room is wonderful! There is absolutely nothing to complain about. From the house, you can take a lovely hike to the headland. Other excursion and hiking destinations are also easily accessible. And don't forget: the journey is the destination! There is so much to discover!

Taigh Mullach Dearg is a fantastic home in a central, but very peaceful part of Skye. The house contains all the luxury you need to relax after a day exploring Skye. A pleasant host, friendly neighbours and if you are lucky enough, the adorable neighbourhood cat Poppy waits for you outside to cuddle! We really enjoyed our 4 night stay and hope to comeback next year. Daan & Andries

To start... WOW, there is good, there is better, then there is best. This place was superior. Clean, spacious, excellent equipment for kitchen. We stayed 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed. Taigh Mullach is centrally located about an hour from every where. Our host was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Definitely a place to stay.
