The Fisherman’s Cottage

This terraced cottage dates from the 19th century, built by the Applecross Estate to house its workers. The building retains its character as a Grade B listed property, though it has been updated with modern essentials like electric heating and Wi-Fi. Applecross Bay stretches out in front—the sea is directly opposite, visible from the windows throughout.

Downstairs are a sitting room with an open fire and a kitchen/dining room. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles) and a shower room with walk-in shower. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee maker and washing machine. Bed linen, towels, electricity and Wi-Fi are included. Private parking for two cars is on site. One well-behaved pet stays free.

The village has a shop for basics and is on the NC500 route; the Applecross Inn is nearby. Mobile phone coverage in the area is limited. The front door opens onto the road, so care is needed when leaving. No smoking inside.
