Cliff Cottage is a detached property finished with care and local character, standing on the Applecross peninsula in the far north-west. The building itself carries the marks of its owners' attention: bespoke interior details, artworks from the area, and a front garden where seasonal vegetables grow in raised beds for guests to use. Water comes from a spring supply, adding to the sense of being genuinely remote.
Inside, four bedrooms and two bathrooms accommodate seven people across two floors. Downstairs holds a living and dining room with wood-burning stove and patio doors opening to decking, a kitchen with electric range and dishwasher, utility room, and a shower room. Upstairs are three further bedrooms and a bathroom with bath and shower. Bed linen and towels come as standard, as does electricity and logs for the fire. A decked garden area, furniture and firepit extend the space outdoors, and parking for three cars sits on the property.
The journey here is part of the appeal: reaching Applecross requires either a coastal route or the Bealach na Bà mountain pass, which climbs steeply from sea level. Once arrived, the peninsula offers a genuinely quiet base for walking and coastal exploration, far from the better-known Scottish destinations. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking inside.
