🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

The Old Store

Photo: Vanessa Moyes

The Old Store is a semi-detached cottage on the edge of Onich, a small village along the A82 in the Highlands. Everything is on the ground floor: an open-plan living space with a smart TV and Freesat, a separate dining area, and a kitchen with an electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and washer-dryer. One bedroom has a king bed, the other two single beds. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are included; there is private parking for two cars and a raised garden with furniture to the rear.

The location works for exploring a large swathe of the Highlands—Glencoe, Fort William, Loch Ness and Inverness are all within reach. The area suits walkers and outdoor enthusiasts: there is mountain biking, water sports and indoor ice climbing nearby, while the west coast and Isle of Skye are a drive away. The village itself has a shop, pub and restaurant within half a mile. Children under 12 are not accommodated. The fields behind the property are part of a working farm and may have livestock grazing in spring and autumn.

Beautiful cottage - warm, cosy and welcoming. Perfectly equipped for a family of four. Lovely homemade treats greeted us on arrival and Scottish toiletries in the bathroom were appreciated. Well insulated from the noise of the main road and well located for Fort William and Ballachulish. Highly recommended.

There is absolutely nothing negative about this place.. the hospitality, accommodation,views.. everything was 100% perfect. We loved every second of being here. All so comfy. Warm and cozy.Brilliant nights sleep. Everything you need.Light and airy. Loved just looking out of the windows at the view. Even the traffic wasn't a problem.Good location for going places. If you're looking for a holiday cottage in the Highlands and you respect other people's property then this place is a must. Actually there was one problem... we had to leave it and come back to reality.
