About Highland Croft
Highland Croft suits travellers after a quiet base for exploring the Highlands rather than a bustling town-centre stay - walkers, families and anyone keen on views of Ben Nevis and the surrounding mountains will feel most at home here. With just three rooms, it has the feel of a small, personally run guesthouse rather than a hotel, and its position in Onich puts it a short drive from Fort William itself.
Rooms are en-suite, with family rooms available and drinks provided in-room, and breakfast is included to set guests up for a day on the hills or by the water. Outside there's a garden and picnic area with outdoor seating, taking in garden, sea and mountain views, while practical touches like free on-site parking, luggage storage and 24-hour reception make arrivals and departures easy. Kids' meals are also available, which helps with family stays.
The surrounding area caters well to outdoor interests, with walking and cycling routes, fishing, golf and watersports all nearby, plus pubs, restaurants and other entertainment within reach for evenings out. It's a straightforward, well-located choice for anyone building a trip around Ben Nevis and the wider Fort William landscape.
What guests say
Highland Croft was the perfect start to our trip in June 2026 – exactly how we imagine a perfect bed & breakfast. Our host, Mairi, was incredibly warm and welcoming, and we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The location is simply dreamy: you can walk straight down to a beach, and you look out over the loch from the breakfast room. And what a breakfast it was – a real highlight, with far more than the usual fare, including lovely touches like croissants and homemade overnight oats. There are also plenty of friendly animals around the croft – dogs, a cat, goats and pigs – which we loved. Mairi gave us wonderful tips for places to explore, and even some personal ones (band recommendations, after we’d enjoyed the music at breakfast!). A truly special place and a wonderful way to begin our Scottish adventure – we couldn’t recommend it more highly.

We had a truly fantastic stay at this B&B. Everything was perfect from start to finish, and the hospitality was simply top notch. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring, making us feel at home from the very first moment. The place itself was spotless, comfortable, and full of charm, with great attention to detail. It’s clear that a lot of heart and passion go into making guests feel welcome. We would wholeheartedly recommend this B&B and would love to come back ourselves.

Mairi and Gary were lovely hosts! The room was cozy and clean and just what we needed. The breakfast was phenomenal, satisfying, and so filling! We were greeted by her lovely pets which is always a highlight for me!! I wish we had stayed longer, but we will definitely be returning in the future!
