Fort William sits at the gateway to Scotland's west coast, where Loch Linnhe meets the Caledonian Canal and Ben Nevis rises behind. Torfern is positioned to take in these surroundings—a substantial family house with views across the water towards the mountains and the Great Glen. The area draws outdoor enthusiasts year-round: mountain biking, climbing, walking and skiing are all within reach, as is the gondola up Aonach Mor. In summer, steam trains run daily past the property on their way to Mallaig across the Glenfinnan Viaduct.
The house sleeps eight across four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with the whole place to yourselves. Downstairs is an open-plan living and dining space with a woodburner and doors onto the garden; the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking. Upstairs there's a second sitting room with television and entertainment. Beds are made up, towels provided, and wi-fi keeps you connected. One pet can stay free. A Co-op and pub sit 200 yards away in Corpach. The property does not permit smoking.
Boat trips to Mull, Staffa and Iona are easily arranged, and unspoilt beaches, castles and distilleries are scattered along the coast. Those who want to travel further can reach Oban, Aviemore or Inverness within a reasonable drive. Arrival is after 16:00, departure before 10:00.

What guests say
Have stayed here with a family of seven (plus a dog) several times and thoroughly recommend it. The heating is excellent and the rooms are spacious with great views of Loch Linnhe and (occasionally) Ben Nevis. There are two open spaces for sitting comfortably, one upstairs, with a TV in each. All mod cons. If weather permits, the garden is also a great space with plenty of garden furniture.
