About Grannies Heilan Hame Holiday Park - Parkdean Holidays

Grannies Heilan Hame Holiday Park is a large holiday park in Embo, a few minutes from Dornoch. The beach is just a short walk away, and the site includes a swimming pool and entertainment programme. Showers are on site. Staff are attentive and the setting has genuine appeal, with views across the water.

The scale of the park means it operates as a busy, sociable place rather than a quiet retreat. Facilities have been noted as occasionally inconsistent in upkeep, so standards may vary depending on when you visit. The beach access and pool make it work well for families or groups looking for activity and company during a Scottish seaside break.

Fantastic place to stay and visit the surrounding areas. Fantastic location and plenty to do on and off park. Swimming pool is clean and tidy we all enjoyed this. The arcades were great. Entertainment was second to none. The restaurant was clean and well seated to accommodate everyone,it was busy so we had a little wait for dinner but it was well worth the wait as the food was delicious everyone of us enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend a holiday here. We had a great time at grannies heilan hame and would definitely come back again.

Just back from our second trip with family to Grannie’s and must say a big improvement on the last time. No faults with caravan and staff a lot friendlier. Even had a couple of phone calls to make sure everything was ok. Didn’t go to entertainment and took our own meals so can’t comment on food but plenty other things to do to keep grandkids happy and overall really enjoyed our time. Beach and location are absolutely beautiful so will definitely be back.

Absolutely disgusting place, wouldn't recommend & definitely won't be back. Arrived today to what is allegedly there gold premium caravan. You'd need to wipe your feet on the way out. Caravan filthy, as old as Noah, chipped scratched table, couch full of tears & loose threads. Staff appaling and not interested in the least. Almost 1k for this tip. Does this table scream "gold premium"! Apparently Parkdean aren't familiar with the English language or they rake serious liberties with the word gold & premium.Avoid this place at all costs, unless you enjoy living in a dump, rundown caravan with no standards. Parkdean are not to be trusted, happy to take your money, give you substandard accommodation, then ignore you if you complain. Expensive for activities. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ABSOLUTELY WON'T BE BACK & To be honest setting the van alight would improve it, definitely needs refurbished, disinfected & fumigated as you're picking up germs & dirt from every other person that's had the misfortune to book this hellhole.

Dear Parkdean Resorts, I am disappointed to be writing this, but I feel it is important to share feedback following my family’s recent stay at Grannie’s Heilan’ Hame. As a family who stay at Parkdean Resorts up to 15 times each year, we have experienced many of your parks and have always enjoyed the standard of service and facilities. Unfortunately, this stay fell well below the level we have come to expect. The positives: * The park itself is one of the better Parkdean sites we have visited. * The arcade facilities are excellent and larger than those at many of your other resorts. Areas of concern: * The point-of-sale (POS) system was not working, meaning card payments could not be processed and purchases could only be made through the Parkdean app, which caused unnecessary inconvenience. * There was no visible cleaning checklist in the toilet facilities. I raised concerns on four separate occasions, as did other guests, yet it took over 50 minutes before the toilets were inspected and eventually closed for cleaning. * The children’s entertainment and evening disco were noticeably below the standard we have experienced at your other parks. * The on-site shop had a very limited selection of fresh produce. The only fresh meat available was bacon and sausages. * Bar staff advised us that, by around 5pm each day, they had run out of wine and beer glasses and had to serve drinks in unsuitable alternatives. * There were no shot glasses available. * One member of the bar team commented, “I don’t care anymore” when questioned about the service. I found this particularly disappointing and not representative of the customer service I would expect from Parkdean Resorts. * Tables in the entertainment venue were regularly left uncleared for well over an hour despite there appearing to be sufficient staff on duty. Overall, my impression was that the park lacks strong operational leadership and consistent staff training. It did not feel as though the team understood the level of customer service that guests expect from the Parkdean brand. As loyal customers who choose to holiday with Parkdean Resorts many times each year, this experience was extremely disappointing. I am providing this feedback because I hope it will be taken seriously and used to improve the experience for future guests. I would appreciate knowing whether these concerns will be investigated and what steps will be taken to address them. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback, and I look forward to your response. Kind regards, Paul
