Holyhead sits on the Anglesey coast, a working port town with easy reach of beaches, cliff walks and open countryside, and it's here that Tan Y Cytiau makes its home just outside the centre. This is a small guesthouse with only three rooms, so it has the feel of a rural B&B rather than a hotel, set among gardens with sea views stretching out towards the coastline.
Rooms are simple and comfortable, with drinks available and a hot sub facility on hand, plus free WiFi throughout. Liked - The room was in general clean. The views were stunning. The bed was comfy. It’s just 10 mins walk to South Stack. Nice patio attached. Lots of parking. Disliked · Absolutely tiny. No room to store anything. Several of the walls covered in damp. Bathroom very small. Here’s the massive issue (pictured) - On booking.com the owners listed the property as “BREAKFAST INCLUDED”. It’s the reason we booked, and it is most definitely NOT! In a tiny fridge, for each of our three mornings, we found pre packed - a nasty cheap pastry, a cereal bar & one orange water. This is not a breakfast! It’s not even a continental breakfast. We were very upset & would not have booked if they had been accurate with their listing. Would never go back. The room was not serviced once during our stay and we had to message the owner to get fresh towels.

Stayed in the lovely Garden Apartment in December. From the vestibule it has an entrance hallway, a living area and connected bedroom, with a separate well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Everything was perfect on arrival with tea, coffee and breakfast provided. We stayed in the Pods on our last visit and this was far more spacious and extremely comfortable and cosy.

What an amazing place to stay. We stayed in the Garden Apartment which has a living area, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The hosts kindly left breakfast items and snacks in the kitchen which is a really nice touch, the apartment itself is very comfortable, the bed was very comfy and the whole feel of the place was very homely. Location wise we loved it, you felt like you were out in the sticks but only a mile or 2 away from the town. A short walk away from South Stack lighthouse and a stones throw from the ancient hut circles. Highly recommended and we hope to return soon.
