Goferydd

Isle of Anglesey

View on Google Maps

Photo: GoFerydd, Anglesey

Holyhead's clifftop landscape frames this property, with the RSPB reserve at South Stack forming a dramatic backdrop. Goferydd sits on the edge of Anglesey's designated natural beauty area, where the coastline drops away steeply and seabirds wheel overhead. The house itself stands on two levels across a modest footprint, connected by internal stairs.

Four bedrooms sleep nine: one has a super king bed, one a king with an en-suite bathroom (bath and walk-in shower), one holds a double and single, and one a pair of twins. The second bathroom also has a bath and walk-in shower. Ground floor living spans a sitting room with a wood-burning stove, a main lounge with patio doors to a raised deck overlooking the water, and a kitchen-dining room equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. Patio doors there also lead to the deck. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and wi-fi are all included; a travel cot and highchair are available. The private hot tub accommodates six people. Parking for four cars sits in front, and the garden has seating areas. No smoking throughout.

The location suits anyone wanting to explore the Anglesey coast, walk the clifftop paths, or watch for choughs and razorbills. Families with children and friends traveling in groups will find the space and facilities practical. One well-behaved dog can stay free of charge.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spectacular accommodation, incredible views, and a perfect family getaway! We had an absolutely amazing time staying here. Our group of four included both a teenager and an older person, and the layout of the property suited everyone perfectly. The accommodation is finished to a very high standard, providing plenty of open space for the family to socialise together, as well as quiet areas to just unwind and relax. The house itself was spotlessly clean, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms were modern and well-equipped. We really appreciated the extra touches of luxury, like the mod cons—the ice machine was a brilliant bonus! Even if the weather hadn't behaved, they have a great indoor setup with a PlayStation and a good TV loaded with movies. We were lucky with the weather, though, so we spent most of our time outdoors. On arrival, there were also some lovely welcome touches waiting for us, including a bottle of wine and some thoughtful items for the dogs. The location and views are nothing short of spectacular. The outdoor decking area is the perfect spot to sit back in the comfortable chairs and look out over the sea. We made great use of the BBQ, which is a fantastic setup. A highlight for us had to be the hot tub. We’ve stayed in places with hot tubs before, but absolutely nothing compares when you have a view like this. Sitting there with a drink in hand, taking in the amazing scenery and looking right out to the sea, it’s amazing. There are plenty of beautiful walking routes to explore in the immediate surroundings right outside your front door. The local area is excellent, especially if you drive, as there are tons of beautiful beaches and charming small towns to explore nearby. Having a cafe directly across the road was a massive bonus for grabbing a morning breakfast or a quick ice cream. For food, we highly recommend eating in at The Sea Shanty, which was incredibly dog-friendly, or picking up a takeaway from Feast Brothers in the local town. I wouldn’t think twice about booking this accommodation again. You won’t regret it—both the house and the location are spectacular! Note: Scotland flags were our addition to the property during our stay when the World Cup was happening!

From the moment we arrived, we knew this place was special. The house is beautiful, spotless, and the sea views are simply stunning something we never got tired of morning or evening. The open-plan kitchen and dining area were perfect for spending time together, and we loved relaxing in the snug after long walks along the coast. The location near South Stack is fantastic, with cliff walks right on the doorstep. And Cooper absolutely loved it – beaches, fresh sea air, and then curling up in the snug like it was his own home. The dog-friendly touches really made a difference. With comfy beds, all the facilities you could need, and plenty of space, it was one of the most relaxing stays we’ve had in a long time. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our return. Highly recommend!

The place would of been ok new but it is in dire need of a refurb . We found alot of issues with cleanliness . First impressions we were met by a a tired building at the side with its windows blocked out and an overgrown weedy garden . The floors were absolutely filthy but you could not tell unless you had a shower and put your bath mat down and picked it up after, especially the very top bathroom which has a black floor which is easily missed as you cant see the dirt .Please see pics.

This is simply the best self-catering we have visited in decades. We wanted a large house in a beautiful location for just for the two of us, and this was more than we could imagine it to be. Firstly, the location is stunning. Views of the sea and then also back over Anglesey to Yr Wyddfa and then all across the lynn peninsula. All can be seen from the two main decks, the deck off the other bedroom and the lovely gardens and the hot tub. It’s an epic location and the last house before South Stack. You truly do feel like you’re getting away from it all. The walks we did from the front door were breathtaking. A bird watchers paradise and a hikers dream. The walks can be as long, short, difficult or easy as you want. You can walk down the almost 400 steps to the lighthouse and hear the cacophony of noise from the razorbills and puffins, or see it from afar. Alternatively, you can walk across the headland, even climbing the mountain, or walking across to Holyhead or the country park. One day, we drove the 15 minutes to Trearddur Bay. We had a lovely lunch at Ocean’s Edge, and enjoyed the beautiful views of the beaches and the views back to where we were staying. There was also a lovely RSPCA visitor centre and cafe across from the house. Well worth visiting. We went in the evening after it had closed to sit on the benches with a glass of wine and watch the sunset. The house. A priority for us is cleanliness and the team behind Goferydd delivered it. There were also little touches like quality toiletries in the bathrooms, robes and towels, all branded, for use with bathrooms and the hot tub. Tastefully decorated and no expense spared. Large televisions, sky tv, Sonos sound system, excellent WiFi. PlayStation and selection of games to keep everyone entertained. The kitchen was just awesome. Double doors to the deck for bringing wine and nibbles out when we needed them, or for bringing breakfast out in the mornings. Inside, big windows in multiple directions to showcase the amazing aforementioned views. All cutlery and plates and everything you would need to hand, as well as a luxurious coffee machine and immense fridge with ice dispenser. We ended up eating in most of the time as we just wanted to be there. We were lucky with the weather but I think we’d also like to be there in the Winter and see the power of the sea, safe and cosy in our beautiful haven. The bed - another priority for us. They’ve used quality mattresses and linen and again, clean! Electric blinds would go down at night and we would sleep like the dead. It was a struggle to get up, but yet, the motivation was there to open the doors next to the bed and go out on the upper deck to view the scenery yet again. The bathroom we used had everything. Again, little luxury touches like the large led lit mirror, double sinks, excellent pressure on the shower, however, the outside shower was so amazing, that I actually chose to shower out there for almost the whole trip to enjoy the view and the wildness. Which leads nicely onto the hot tub. Just superb! Big and easy to use with epic views. Lastly the hosts. We actually met Dave and Sara while we were there. Not obtrusive in any way and absolutely friendly and passionate about what they’ve built here. They have two other 2 person self catering places with the lakes, which after this, we will need to book one of them, because we know it will have the quality we want in a place. It’s never going to be for everyone, but if you want peace, views, relaxation and be within a fantastic environment on a magical island, then you’ve got it here. We will have to come back again when we need our souls replenishing. Thanks Dave and Sara. We totally got it, and we loved it.
