What visitors say
This is the nearest bowling alley to us. Came here many times during the weekend to combine watch movies then have fun for bowling or other games, but have no luck for the availability, especially on Sunday. It's packed. It is a great place. So we decided to come during weekday afterfinish work just to have fun and release our stress 😅 We had a great time. Play 3 rounds. Tickets include drinks and pay an extra for the food. Drinks are good, snacks are also good. Not only bowling, we had fun playing basketball, and racing. We must do it more often and will try other games. The place is also clean, I mean during weekdays. Not sure during the weekend as I saw it packed. Recommend for group fun activities.

Calm, family friendly place. Staff were helpful and gave out stickers which added an extra element of fun. My daughter got a cut from something and the staff gave a plaster and was very caring. Great chilled fun.

I had a very frustrating experience at Hollywood Bowl due to a faulty coin machine. The machine took a £10 card payment and did not dispense any coins. The transaction shows as successful in my bank account and is not pending, so the money has clearly been taken. When I spoke to staff about this, Natalie, Chris and Crystal were extremely unhelpful and ignorant. I was told to “come back in a day if the payment hasn’t gone through,” which made no sense given that the transaction was already marked as successful. I also contacted the bank last night and they said the payment couldn’t be cancelled as it’s status is “successfull” so I had to return the next day as the bank told me ask for a refund from Hollywood Bowl, only for Crystal to dismiss me entirely by not even acknowledging me and lied saying she’ll see me in 15 mins when in fact she did not and neither did she show understanding or willingness to help resolve the issue. There was a complete lack of customer service, accountability, and basic empathy. Being £10 out of pocket may not seem like much to the business, but it matters to customers, especially when the fault is clearly with their machine. My kids couldn’t even enjoy their time properly. Not only did they waste my time yesterday and today but also made my kids worry for no reason. I expected much better handling of this situation.

Firstly, I know it's a low review but the bar staff are possibly the only great aspect, they'd get a 5*. I won't be really harsh as I'm sure this is a great place to take the kids but for bowlers in general, this is by far the absolute worst alley I've used house balls on and I'm surprised a league was attending. Even if they use their own balls, every single lane is dented and every house ball is smashed/chipped to bits, watching those bowl around me just throwing the ball in the air and slamming it as hard as they can...I'll leave this to those who like it and I'm sure many won't agree with my star rating which is fair but I travel for work and frequent Hollywood bowl Portsmouth, Maidstone, Tunbridge wells, worthing and Strood, which all are equally far better with patrons respecting the lanes...I'll stay far away from this place when booking my next overnight.

People say this bowling alley offers well-maintained lanes and a variety of arcade games, including classic machines. They also highlight the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the spacious parking.
Some reviews mention the VIP lanes can be overpriced.
