Crawley Down sits in the northeast corner of West Sussex, surrounded by the High Weald and close enough to Surrey and Kent to feel properly rural, yet only ten minutes on foot from the village itself. The Orchard Loft occupies a converted space within a building that dates back four centuries, with exposed beams and period carpentry that mark every room. It sleeps six across three double bedrooms upstairs, with a family shower room on the same floor. Downstairs, a generous hallway opens onto the living areas, and a suit of armour sits in the main room alongside a working fireplace (available October to April).
The kitchen has everything needed to cook properly. Electricity, bed linen and towels are all provided. Outside, the grounds run to woodland, pasture and ponds—there is room to explore, though the ponds are unfenced. A hot tub is available, and a tennis court operates in the warmer months. Parking for two cars sits at the front, accessed through security gates. Footpaths and woodland walks begin from the property itself, or head into the village for shops, restaurants and pubs within easy reach. No smoking indoors.
