What visitors say

Tim Baker

Stayed in the 3 bed property on site that had beds for 7 people. 3 full bathrooms. Dog friendly. About 20mins from Filey and Bridlington for the beach and slots and about 10mins from the nearest beach. All the beaches in the area are worth a visit if you have dogs with you.

Went to dale farm for our 22nd anniversary we stayed in what was advertised as a ‘woodland cabin’ far from it. It was like staying in a shed. We paid just shy of £200 pounds to stay in a run down shed. No fridge just a cooler box which didn’t even cool anything. We bought with us ice packs to help keep our beers chilled on the journey up. When we got to the shed we popped the beers and the still cold ice packs into the cooler box. Later on we got a beer and it was warm ice packs warm. So clearly the cooler box doesn’t work. Would it cost you so much owners to actually put a mini fridge in? Especially as you supply the shed sorry woodland cabin with a BBQ what’s the point we can’t keep our meats chilled as the cooler box is pointless. Theres several points in the shed that I could mention but the few things we are going to mention is the wire coming out of the ceiling light. The curtains if you can call them that barely keep the light out nevermind the privacy issue and how musty and not even the colour intended anymore. The chairs you supply let’s start with the outdoor ones what are they? They look like they are going to collapse if you sat on them. The indoor wooden chairs again uncomfortable, we booked your cabin because we wanted to get away from it all and those are the chairs you provide? Half hour and you can’t feel ur behind. No complimentary teas or coffee. No wifi. The shed needs basically gutting along with the sharp stench of varnish or whatever that smell is definitely toxic whatever it was. And please for the love of money cos you clearly loved grabbing ours please throw away the dirty throw and hot water bottle cover. I wanted tranquil and serene I ended up living like a homeless person for the night. Now let’s move on to the lovely views. So as we sit in our shed over the decking which may I add has several dents and cracks and as we put wood into the provided chimnea that may I add needs the skip as it as a hole in the bottom that you could fit your fist through, we admired the house of the owners not pretty fields just a lawn a broken chimnea then the carpark and their house! So as we sat trying to manoeuvre our chairs to a different position to obtain some kind of view that isn’t brick wall and cars we gave up. Next morning, well this was just the icing on the cake, went over to the lavatory and shower which may I add is in the same room together. Was being in use for the best part of 3/4 of a hour. This place has one toilet and one shower oh I forgot to mention the shower, yes the shower tray that’s got a gaping gash in! So yes this 1 shower 1 toilet has to go around from what we could see 3 WOODLAND CABINS aka sheds TREEHOUSE aka shed in a tree and another let. You are not near anything within walking distance this one I can’t complain about as we knew this and wanted this atmosphere. Well we did until we realised what we were actually stopping in. Hunmanby chipshop is fantastic no complaints there. I could go on and on alittle bit more but quite frankly I’m exhausted. I am being honest this was a lot of money for what was provided. Our hard earned money had gone wasted on nothing like the pictures tell. We ended up leaving after one night I couldn’t speak to the owners at the time as I was so frustrated and upset that it wouldn’t have been worth the hassle. So Thankyou owners for taking our money I hope you enjoy it. Please can you use the money to restore your cabins. This is unacceptable and I am writing this review because as you can probably tell I’m still very disappointed and upset and our anniversary was ruined. I don’t want anyone else to fall for the same fate. Asked for a refund politely now have changed their feedback on my review. Wow reporting me to fraud department how ironic. Your the fraudsters by advertising your cabins in a completely different light to what it is. Also, at not at any point have the owners addressed my issues with the holiday let. They’ve basically ignored everything I have stated and nit even stated they will rectify these issues for future custom.

Our second stay at Dale Farm Holidays, first time in the Treehouse and this time in the Grain Store. There’s good reason why we came again and will continue to return, it’s so peaceful and tranquil and a perfect place to holiday with our small dog. Hosts are super friendly and always at hand to answer questions if needed. Both the Treehouse and Grain Store are amazing places to have a BBQ whilst watching the sunset. Looking forward to staying again!

Lovely place to stay close to Filey. The accommodation was clean and had everything you needed to make your stay comfortable. The place itself is not over crowded and is excellent for taking your dog. Much appreciation to Liz and Paul the owners they are wonderful and never disturbed us but was there if needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
