About Little Shelfin Farm Camping

This 80-acre working farm just outside Ilfracombe makes an excellent base for exploring North Devon's coast and countryside. Woolacombe's renowned surf breaks are ten minutes by car, while the Tarka Trail and Exmoor's cycling routes lie within easy reach. Pitches are genuinely spacious with plenty of breathing room between neighbours, set on a large field where kids can kick a ball about and dogs can stretch their legs in the dedicated run.

The modern facilities are consistently clean – guests particularly appreciate the warm showers and spotless toilet block – and the online check-in keeps things straightforward. Electric hookups are available, and there's ice pack freezing for cool boxes. A pub serving pizzas and steaks sits about ten minutes' walk away at Mullacott, while several footpaths leave directly from the site. The bus stop for Woolacombe is a short stroll if you fancy leaving the car behind.

Good site, lower priced than others in the area. Easy to book online, pitches are reasonably wide and as deep as you like really. Didn't use the facilities so can't comment. Only negatives are that the grass is quite long and the cuttingseam everything gets covered in wet grass as soon as it rains, and the fact that the night we stayed the site was only around 50% full, yet everyone was bunched together with half the field empty. Would be beneficial to space people out more when you're not full.

We had a wonderful experience camping here. The camping area is spacious, surrounded by nature, and very peaceful. The toilets and showers were always clean and well maintained. If you enjoy staying close to nature, I highly recommend this place with confidence!

The whole family loved it, Fantastic place. We have been here for 2 nights out of 4 and still havnt seen the owners yet! This is good and bad I guess. We don't mind as we are very self sufficient. We arrived to a whiteboard that clearly had our pitch number displayed for us to see so we could Instantly setup without having to wait for the whole tour and run down! Nice! The pitch numbers are also clear to see. For a beginner camper this may be a touch daunting as well as those that like to meet the owners of the sites upon arrival. I'm sure you can call up and they will pop over if you need them. The pitch sizes are big! Much bigger than the average campsite. There is lots of space between the pitches too which is fantastic. The electric hookup is close and so is a clean water tap, in fact they're all over the park so no long treks with heavy water bottles back to tent or van. The toilets are clean and the shower gets nice and warm. Although this sounds essential there are lots of campsites that still struggle with hot water supply but claim to have it before you arrive! Another nice touch is the grass quality, it's lush and thick but not long and tatty. If you camp on the ground it's an extra layer underneath your mats. Would definitely stay again.

This was a fantastic find. The showers and loos were clean. It was nice and quiet and calm. Really fantastic location to the beach and both towns. I had a really great time and it was really affordable. It worked out to be less than £5 per night for each of my friends. Would come again and I would reccomend to all.
