A campsite near Ilfracombe
About Mullacott Farm
Perched on a working farm between Ilfracombe and Woolacombe, Mullacott offers something genuinely special: sweeping sea views on three sides from its gently sloping camping fields. Pitch your tent wherever takes your fancy and you'll gaze west towards Woolacombe Bay and Lundy Island, north to Lee Bay and Ilfracombe's harbour, and on sparkling days you might even spot the Welsh coast shimmering across the Bristol Channel. The site keeps things refreshingly simple—unmarked grass pitches, clean if basic facilities a hundred metres from the field—but with scenery this dramatic, who needs frills?
The farm's position in north Devon's coastal preservation area puts you within easy reach of the region's best: surf beaches at Woolacombe four miles away, Exmoor's moorland trails ten miles south, and excellent coastal path walking practically from your tent door. Dogs are welcome year-round, making this a solid choice for walkers and their four-legged companions seeking budget-friendly camping with genuinely spectacular views.

Excellent place to stay! The hosts Alison and her husband were wonderful, and couldn't do enough for us. The room was very clean, warm and comfortable with everything you could need available in the room. Loved that we could help ourselves to any extra hot drinks sachets in the kitchen, with the kitchen being fitted out with additional tea coffee and toast making facilities. The showers always had hot water and the shower pressure was perfect. The location is very remote but we booked this venue for a scuba diving trip because they could accommodate a big group between the barn and the b&b. Would definitely stay again for the next scuba dive! It was lovely to see the chickens, ducks and geese on the farm.

Excellent base from which to head for Lundy. Left car at the farm and got discounted room rate, so it was great value anyway - but lovely spacious room, comfy bed, good shower, super clean and great takeaway brekkie (or lunch if you’re worried about the crossing). Alison really friendly and helpful. I had a bad back and they happily lent me a hot water bottle for the trip. Best choice for a Lundy trip if you’re driving to ilfracombe.

Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds. Country views and cute farm animals. We loved going to say hello to the chickens, ducks, baby goats and Alpacas, the pigs liked a scratch. Alison and Adrian couldn't have been more welcoming with helpful local knowledge, always happy to have a chat. Their multicoloured free range eggs were delicious. We loved the choice of breakfast or packed lunch options free with the price. Some of our group camped and some in the bed and breakfast rooms. We have stayed many times and will definitely return. Thank you for another lovely week.
