About Sandaway Beach Holiday Park
Perched on a low cliff near Ilfracombe, Sandaway Beach Holiday Park delivers what many guests rave about most: stunning sea views and direct access to a private cove. A stepped path leads down to the rocky foreshore and sandy beach, with the secluded Mermaids Cove just a scramble away for peaceful swims—though do check the tide times before venturing down.
As a John Fowler park, there's plenty to keep families entertained beyond the beach. A free heated outdoor pool, soft play area, playground, kids' clubs, and games room mean restless youngsters are well catered for, while the Smugglers Bar serves pub grub with sea and Exmoor views alongside evening entertainment. Guests can also use facilities at sister park Combe Martin Beach nearby, including another private beach and the Sea Spray Club. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and good value, though some note accommodation can feel poorly maintained in places. With fishing, golf, watersports, and farm parks all close by, it's a solid coastal base for exploring North Devon.

What visitors say
We had a fantastic stay at this caravan site. The whole park was spotless, clean, and very well maintained. Our caravan was modern, extremely clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout our visit. The location is perfect, with several beautiful coves and beaches within easy walking distance, and it’s also a great base for day trips by car. The sea views around the park are absolutely stunning. We also loved the thoughtful welcome gift left for our dog on arrival, such a lovely touch. We would definitely return and highly recommend this site.

This is a self catering holiday. Visited this place in 2017 when my children were 5 and 2yrs. We stayed in a Bronze Accommodation. The children had access to the pool which became a highlight of the vacation. We used the reliable bus services to access all the diverse part of Devon and Cornwall. It's 2026, I returned with my children and felt we all felt like fish out of water, note we are a black family. We stayed at the Gold Accommodation which was extremely small. The room was poorly cleaned and filled with spiders. It took us 3days to feel comfortable. I meal planned and seasoned all my proteins before we arrived. I brought everything I needed from spices to fresh milk. I took the train which felt like a journey to another world. The bus wasn't as reliable this time around so hired a taxi driver who was absolutely incredible. We booked our activities and he dropped us and picked us up. He made my family feel safe, in a place we felt uncomfortable. Travelling outside of London as a black person is becoming a little alarming as the reception is very negative and I felt that when we went to specific places. We enjoyed the pool but this was regulated as there was a lot of restrictions. The pool area hardly had any pool reclining chairs. Our room was not cleaned or bed changed even once although this was in the contract. The week felt overwhelming however we enjoyed.

Booked an Easter break with our grandson, staying in a ‘Bronze’ rated caravan. Welcome was friendly and courteous the site itself not huge but well placed for Coombe Martin and surrounding attractions and appeared to have quite a lot of facilities, which I admit we didn’t take full advantage of. The onsite shop was very good, lots of choice and availability. Our caravan itself was fine, yes a little older than others and a bit tired in places but mostly clean enough and well appointed for the price. Where it really scored 10/10 was its position in the site, location wise it was perfect! Stunning views of the harbour and sea, just wonderful. Would recommend and stay again if in the area

We booked a weekend away in late march, and thought try this neck of the woods. Arrived and staff super helpful, caravan was clean and good spec. However noticed a issue with the plumbing which raised next morning, although they tried to fix the issue they couldn't get sorted, so moved us to another caravan without hesitation and let us have both keys and take our time! This caravan was even better than the original with sea views as well. All staff we had contact with were super helpful, our son enjoyed the evening entertainment and bingo. The beach is great to explore and swim. It was very peaceful and clean with stunning views every way you looked. We were all really sad to leave and it's not going to be the last time we visit for sure.
