Creepy and ill informed owner, stay away. Late last night myself and 3 friends arrived near Drum and looked for a campsite. It would've been nice to use facilities so we checked the price of this location. £30 to stay in our own tent seemed a bit silly to us so we decided to stay in a nearby field instead as it was getting dark. The field had no livestock, no crops, was unenclosed, and had only grass to around knee level, nettles, wildflowers and weeds. Coming from a rural Scottish community myself, I am very familiar with the Scottish outdoor access code and know that camping here is completely within our rights. We rudely were awoken around 08:00 by the owner of the campsite. He insuated that we had used his facilities, and that we had broken the outdoor access code; both demonstrably untrue. As if this wasn't enough, this older man felt the need to open my (a sole young woman's) tent without asking. We are now in contact with the local authority and the police regarding this intimidation and flagrant disregard for the Scottish outdoor access code. Stay away.

Stayed here on our recent NC500 trip. Fab location and scenery. Nice staff and very helpful. Showers were in a portakabin style building and weren’t really the best plus not a huge amount of room from what I recall. But nice hot water nonetheless. Would deffo stay here again. Great dog walk right next door and useful location for NC500 travellers.

Great little campsite with spotlessly clean facilities. It's just a short walk to the castle, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily visit again.
