About OYO Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel

OYO Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel suits travellers who want an uncomplicated stopover for exploring Loch Ness and the surrounding Highlands, rather than a destination in itself. Set in Drumnadrochit, it works well for those touring the area by car, with free on-site parking and easy reach of walking routes and nearby pubs and restaurants.

The hotel has 29 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and family options, and many have been refreshed in recent years, though maintenance can vary from room to room. There's a restaurant and bar on site along with breakfast service, free WiFi, a garden, laundry service and luggage storage, and the property also hosts weddings and meetings. Pets are welcome, which adds to its appeal for those travelling with animals.

Staff are generally noted as friendly and helpful, which counts for a lot on a touring trip, though the on-site food doesn't always match expectations, so guests may prefer to make use of the restaurants and pubs nearby. Culloden Battlefield is within reach for a day out, and Beauly lies a short distance away, making this a practical rather than a luxurious choice for a Highlands stay.

I was with a group and we wanted to stop in and get a few drinks at the bar. Found the only table near the window, which had the last groups old dishes on it. We assumed someone would be over to clear it. Waited and waited, they did not. There was no one at the bar. And the lights appeared to be off. Saw three people talking behind the food counter. Asked them how I could get a drink and they said just to order from them, strange but ok. Asked them if they could clear the table. Had some blank stares then repeated myself. She then obliged and cleared the table. She Did not come back and clean it with a cloth. She went back to chatting behind the counter. At every opportunity the staff stood and chatted. A Gin and Tonic cost around £7.50 each. Exorbitant pricing! No lemon or ice. I had to ask for lemon. We had one drink and left. Shame as this could be a thriving place due to its location. It was half empty and yet the streets were packed. Toilets need more regular attention. They clearly hadn’t been checked for hours. Smelly, toilet roll pieces over the floor, sinks needed a wipe down. The staff really need to pay more attention, clearing a table is so basic. I would suggest one stands behind the bar. It would be nice if they took more pride in their work. Disappointing!

What a lovely place this was! Really good location for what we needed. Bistro food downstairs was really tasty, a little on the expensive side, but not over the top, felt more like a small local place having higher overheads. Staff and the welcome were great, and the receptionist when we checked out helped with the best places to visit and pass to get what we were looking for. Room did what it needed for us, wasnt a load of room, but we didnt need it, felt clean, and the bathroom was spotless. No complaints at all we just wish we stayed more than the one night. Thanks so much for the memories!

I recently stayed at the Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Loch Ness and the surrounding Highlands, with beautiful scenery right on the doorstep and plenty of local attractions nearby. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay, making the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable from the moment I arrived. My room was clean, comfortable, and ideal for a peaceful break after long days exploring the area. The food and drinks were also excellent — hearty meals, a good atmosphere in the bar, and a lovely Scottish Highland feel throughout the hotel. What really stood out was the friendly atmosphere and how convenient everything was for visiting Urquhart Castle, Loch Ness cruises, and local walks. I would happily stay here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located base in the Highlands. A brilliant stay all round.

Ideal location for a 2 night visit to Loch ness. A quirky hotel with a throw back to 80's kitch, complete with avocado bathroom suite. Large lodge room, comfy bed, no complaints at all. Friendly staff. On site cafe, serves good food and whisky. Overall good value, cheers
