Once we found it, the museum was worth a look only because it's one of the original purpose built museums in the country. It's a geological and archaeological museum so lots of fossils and interesting exhibits about geology. Actually, the building itself is worth the visit. Your £5 pass gets you into the Scarborough art galleries as well, though both were closed when we visited.

Small museum, but still some interesting exhibitions, especially the old maps/pictures of Scarborough. Visit takes around 30 minutes I would say, but I'd still recommend the Rotunda Museum. Buying a ticket also gives you admission to the Scarborough Art Gallery, so it's definitely worth the £5.

Not a huge museum but what they have is really interesting. Well worth the standard £5 ticket price. Met a really knowledgeable and helpful chap on the reception desk who recommended YouTube as a useful source of further information about how we came to be where we are today. We would definitely go again.
